The Application of “Tian” Herringbone of Nvshu in Modern Fashion Design

"Nvshu" in Jiangyong, Hunan Province, is the world's solely female characters, which is a language created and developed by chinese women and is considered to be a special record of the lives of women with female emotions. "Nvshu" is generally written on fans, cloth, or paper, or drawn on brocade or lace. Some of them are use on brocade or lace and become a strongly decorative elements. As a decorative element, "tian" herringbone in "Nvshu" has been widely used as a form of character decoration. It has clean lines, changing visual style decorative aesthetic. This article is focused on the detailed analysis of the aesthetic trait of "tian", and "tian"herringbone is tried to apply in the modern female clothes design. At last through the design practice and application research, this article points out that "nvshu"is considerably meaningful for the national cultural heritage in the application of the design innovation.
