Hydrogen in liquid-quenched and vapour-quenched amorphous Pd80Si20
1984
Abstract Measurements of the chemical potential, diffusion coefficient and partial molar volume of hydrogen in amorphous Pd 80 Si 20 revealed pronounced differences between samples which were prepared by melt spinning and by sputtering. The different concentration dependences of the three quantities can be explained by gaussian energy distributions of different widths, yielding a broader distribution for the sputtered sample.
