Study on the factors suppressing oil pipe corrosion by sulfate reducing bacteria

2000
The research on sulfate reducing bacteria (SRB) strain Dr.desulfuricans screened from oil well flooding water shows that it is an anaerobe with oxygen resistance. The environment of low redox potential is more suitable to its growth. Waste oil can be taken as carbon source. Fe 3+ , but not NO 3- , can be used as electron acceptor. If the release rate of H 2S is increased in the logarithm growth period, the release amount during two days can reach 95% of the total release amount. The research shows that the growth of SRB can be suppressed by oxygen exposure, SO 2- 4 removal, organics removal and bacteria symbiotic antagonism.
