Producing a refractory metal component

Method (S1-S12) for producing a refractory metal component by means of casting, said method comprising the steps of: providing a slurry (S) comprising a powder of at least one refractory metal or a compound thereof and at least one binder (S3); and processing the slurry (S) by means of casting (S4), particularly tape casting or slip casting, to at least one slip (4); wherein the slurry (4) is metal-free binder. A component is prepared by the method (S1-S12). The invention is particularly applicable to x-ray tubes, accelerators targets or fusion reactors, in particular for a surface of an X-ray anode and a wall of a fusion reactor.
