Sending method for sending arp packet in vxlan, vtep, and vxlan controller

Disclosed are a sending method for sending an ARP packet in a VxLAN, a VTEP, and a VxLAN controller, so as to eliminate a problem of a resource waste that occurs because a packet is sent in a multicast manner. The technical solution provided in the present invention mainly comprises: a source VTEP receiving an ARP packet of a source virtual machine (VM), the ARP packet being used for requesting a media access control (MAC) address of a destination VM, and the ARP packet carrying an IP address of the destination VM; acquiring the IP address of the destination VM carried in the ARP packet; sending a query request to a VxLAN controller to acquire an IP address of a destination VTEP, the query request carrying the IP address of the destination VM; acquiring the IP address of the destination VTEP from the VxLAN controller; encapsulating the ARP packet according to the IP address of the destination VTEP to generate a VxLAN packet; and sending the VxLAN packet to the destination VTEP.
