Regeneration of Ischemic Cardiovascular Damage Using Wharton's Jelly as an Unlimited Source of Therapeutic Stem Cells

Abstract Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the number one cause of death worldwide. Despite substantial and evident progress, CVDs remain an unsolved medical burden. Regenerative cell replacement therapy is becoming a most promising approach for future standard treatments of CVDs. In this chapter, we summarize information on Wharton's jelly mesenchymal stem cells usage in CVDs and speculate on the future of their clinical application.
