Olfactory environment and heterotypical sexual behavior in the castrated male rat

The display of heterotypical, that is feminine sexual behavior was studied in adult orchidectomized Rats treated with estradiol benzoate and progesterone following exposure to the odor of either male or female urine. The odor of male urine was shown to suppress an inhibitory influence of the olfactory bulbs on the heterotypical sexual behavior in the male Rat.
