Structural, thermomagnetic and magnetostrictive properties of nanocrystallized Fe-Cu-(Nb)-Si-B-(N) ribbons
1999
Abstract Fe 73.5 Cu 1 Si 13.5 B 12 and Fe 73.5 Cu 1 Nb 3 Si 13.5 B 9 nanocrystallized amorphous ribbons are investigated. To obtain the nanocrystalline state, a new kind of treatment is performed: nitriding thermochemical treatment (NTT). We show that this treatment can slightly improve the nanocrystalline state compared to the conventional thermal treatment (CTT). The new treatment leads to smaller grain size and higher crystalline volume fraction. It increases the Curie temperature of the crystalline α-FeSi phase and leads to smaller values of the magnetostriction constant.
