New Perspectives on Polyoxometalate Catalysts: Alcohol Oxidation with Zn/Sb-Polyoxotungstates.

(NH4)10[Zn(H2O)6]2 [Zn2Sb2 (B-α-ZnW9O34)2] ·12H2O (I) is prepared prepared by reaction of Na9[SbW9O33] and Zn(OAc)2 (H2O, 85 °C, 90 min) followed by addition of excess NH4Cl at room temperature and slow evaporation of the solvent (10 d, 16% yield).
