Older adults with acute myeloid leukemia treated with intensive chemotherapy: “old” prognostic algorithms may not apply

The notion that older adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) represent a major therapeutic challenge due to host biological factors and intrinsic disease features leading to poor outcomes is accepted by consensus. Older adults have diminished stem cell reserve, more frequent comorbid medical
