Application of audio magnetotelluric sounding in the geothermal exploration

In this paper,the geological characteristics of the study area are described and analyzed,and the application of AMT to the exploration of geothermal resources is described in detailed through the introduction of the layout,data collection and processing of AMT. The features of the two-dimensional magnetotelluric inversion processing and interpretation software system ( MTSoft2D 2. 0 ) are also introduced,and the improved two-dimensional non-linear conjugate gradient ( NLCG) method are used in the data inversion and interpretation. The research results are helpful in determining the depth and thickness of the thermal layer and basic information of the distribution of geological structures. Actual data indicate that AMT is effective in the survey of aquifer and geothermal resources.
