Wind Tunnel Tests and Wind-induced Responses Analysis of 1 000 kV Hanjiang Long Span Transmission Line System

2009
Taking the 1 000 kV UHV transmission project from Jindongnan through Nanyang to Jingmen being constructed as research background, according to the feature that the wind-induced response of transmission tower is complicated, the wind tunnel tests for aeroelastic model were performed. The aeroelastic model of the tower is designed by use of rigid subsections with "V" shaped spring added. Through the analysis on experimental results, the data of aerodynamic coefficient and wind-induced response of the transmission tower is obtained. Based on the one variable multi-dimension spectral representation method, the cross-spectrum of the vertical wind and the portrait wind has been considered. The time-history method of the buffeting response is used for the wind-induced analysis of the transmission line system, the results and the test values are in good agreement. Research results show that under the wind load the coupled vibration of conductors and transmission tower should not be neglected.
