Therapeutic effect analysis of rhegmatogenous retinal detac-hment surgery in 60 cases

2007
Objective To analyze the therapeutic methods and effect of surgery in patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD).Methods Sixty patients with RRD accepted surgery. The major surgery were as followed:retinal breaks locating, cryotherapy, subretinal fluid drainaging, scleral buckling or encircling scleral buckling combined with intravitreal injection of cleared air. Results The follow-up time was from 3 months to 1 year after operation. The retinal reattachment with breaks closed in 55 eyes, the visual acuity increased in 53 eyes, the reason that caused reoperation of RRD were attributed to progressive vitreoretinal traction with proliferative vitreoretinopathy, formation of new retinal breaks, reopening of original breaks, and some happened in aphakic eye or the eye with giant RRD.Conclusion The scleral buckling or encircling scleral buckling surgery is an effective method for treatment of RRD.Ocular fundus should be examined carefully in preoperation, and proper operative method should be selected.
