Synthetic diamond heat sinks for high-power laser diodes

1999
The influence of the diamond substrate metallization on their heat conductivity was investigated and the perspective use of heat sinks on the basis of synthetic diamonds for assembling high-power laser diodes was shown. Stationary three-dimensional distribution of temperature inside the diamond heat sinks depending on the laser diode power taking into account the design peculiarities of a chip mounting was analytically investigated.
