A combined continuous electrodeposition apparatus for preparing a thin film type solar cell, the length of the plating cell in a modular electrical deposition unit can be easily varied to meet a roll to roll process required for the different current density. Further, the electrolyte solution can be easily connected to the housing or detached from the plating module and move around. With these designs, the multilayer film coated with different metals, metal alloys and semiconductors can be used, or this line deposition equipment with an easy change out and the flexibility of the plating material different order by electroplating. In this apparatus a continuous roll of such CdTe and CIGS IB-IIIA-VIA element, and the Group IIB-VIA thin film type solar cells are particularly useful in the preparation of a flexible conductive substrate such as to-roll process.
