The invention relates to a method for preparing cubic phase Li4Mn5O12. The main step of the method is as follows: calcining a solid phase mixture which is mainly constituted by a solid phase divalent manganese salt and a solid phase lithium salt or/and a solid phase lithium hydroxide at the temperature of 350 DEG C-500 DEG C for at least 6 hours in an air atmosphere to obtain a target product, wherein the molar ratio of the manganese element to the lithium element is (0.6-2): 1. The method disclosed by the invention has the following advantages: (1) raw materials are low in cost and easy to obtain, the molar ratio of the lithium element to the manganese element is relatively low, and the waste of the lithium-containing raw material is little; and (2) the preparation conditions are relatively mild (the specific representation is that the calcining temperature is not high, and inert gas is not required for protection), the preparation process is simple, the preparation period is short and the like. The cubic phase Li4Mn5O12 prepared by the method disclosed by the invention has a spinel structure and stable nature, and can be used as an electrode material of a lithium battery or a precursor for preparing a lithium ion sieve (MnO2.0.31H2O).
