CYCLIC SOFTENING EFFECT OF HIGH CURRENT MULTIPLE PULSES ON STRAIN CONTROLLED LOW CYCLE FATIGUE OFα-Ti
1992
The effect of high current density multiple pulses on strain controlled low cyclefatigue of α-Ti was demonstrated. It is revealed that in the early stage of strain cycling unpulsedspecimen undergoes softening at first and then a hardening peak follows in succession. However,in pulsed specimen, the cycling is a continuously softening process, the hardening peak is elimi-nated by the current pulse. This is attributed to the electroplastic effect of the current pulses.
