Multi-site observation of the δ Scuti star V 647 Tau. Primary results of the Eighth STEPHI campaign

1999
Abstract The eighth STEPHI international multi-site campaign was devoted to the δ Scuti Star V647 Tau of the Pleiades Cluster and was carried out in the period 1997 Nov 19–Dec 13. Analysis using two methods gave the same result. Five pulsation frequencies including both radial and non-radial modes are excited in this star. The dominant frequency p = 20.408c/d observed in 1972 has decreased to become the second frequency with a decreased amplitude. The global parameters show the star to be a young A type star just beginning core hydrogen burning.
