Development of a portable shock wave therapy device using a PIC microcontroller

This research attempts to develop a lightweight shock wave therapy equipment. In platform investigation, the specific characteristics of shock pulse depend on the common electrical stimulation on physical therapy, minimum dimension of the multi-coil accelerator structure and calculate the capacitors discharge energy size for the first single trigger. The combination items with the coil firing check protection circuit and the voltage-dividing signal to produce a miniaturized continuous toggle type of coil launcher. The ADC and PWM functions in microcontroller have controlled the value of main pulse output reference. Analyzing user selected frequency and detect the random input offset voltage. According to a new firmware algorithm to adjust output energy to fit in every launch power needed. The platform is not only improving the safety during the processing, but also developing to a real commercialization product.
