Atipical retinoblastoma. Case report

2013
We present an atipical case of retinoblastoma. 5-year-old girl presented with a decrease of visual acuity and white – greyish balls in the anterior chamber. A mass in the vitreous cavity could be seen at slit-lamp examination. Ultrasound revealed a huge compact lesion, harbouring almost the whole vitreous cavity. Such findings could be seen in medulioepitelioma also. The eye was enucleated. Histopathologic evaluation showed rosetes, fleuretes and Flexner-Wintersteiner rosettes were seen. Those findings are tipical for retinoblastoma. In summary, histopathologic examination can be very helpful to make the right diagnose.
