The relationship between leadership style and nurse's work motivation with the implementation of patient safety culture in hospital, Bone regency.

OBJECTIVE To identify the dominant leadership style and to analyze the relationship between leadership style and nurse's work motivation with the implementation of the patient safety culture of the inpatient installation in the c class hospital of Bone regency. METHOD This is a cross-sectional study which involved 104 nurses in total sampling. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test. RESULTS The dominant leadership style of the inpatient nurse managers is transactional, with a percentage of 69.2%. There was a significant relationship between leadership style (p<0.05) and nurse's work motivation (p<0.05) with the application of patient safety culture, respectively. CONCLUSION The transactional leadership has an impact on independent culture, and the combination of extrinsic and intrinsic motivation has an impact on creating public service motivation, which is good to build reporting and learning the culture.
