Carbon Monoxide Intoxication

1990
Intoxication with carbon monoxide (CO) is a common consequence of breathing the toxic byproducts of combustion. Serious CO exposure often occurs during inhalation of smoke or automobile exhaust or as a result of industrial accidents. CO causes most of the morbidity and mortality from toxic inhalations in the United States [1] where it may be responsible for as many as 4000 deaths per year [2].
