Some Recent Information on Aircraft Vibration Due to Aerodynamic Sources

1968
This paper is concerned with a survey of recent information on aircraft vibration with special attention being paid to vibration induced by aerodynamic sources. Certain aspects of the following topics as they bear on aircraft vibration will be discussed, including a general assessment of the state of the art in each of the areas: boundary‐layer pressure fluctuations; buffet due to configuration and maneuver; vibratory response due to atmospheric gusts; engine noise as related to sonic fatigue; flutter with special mention of problems of coplanar wings; helicopters, including a brief mention of the major vibratory problems.
