Non-penetrating Trabecular Surger Treat Primary Open-angle Glaucoma

Objective To evaluate the results of non-penetrating trabecular surger(NPTS) in primary open angle glaucoma.Methods The 36 eyes of 31 primary open-angle glaucoma patients who had undergone NPTS.Intraocular pressur(IOP),visual acuity,visual fields and complications were recorded on the postoperative first 6 months.Results Mean preoperative IOP levels were 29.2(+/8.0)mmHg in the operated eyes and 15.1(+/-5.1)mmHg in the postoperative eyes on the postoperative first 3 months.Mean IOP on the postoperative 6 month visits were significant difference compared with the preoperative levels(P0.01).There were not obvious difference in the visual acuity and visual fields.There were not severe complication.Conclusion NPTS is a safe and effective operation in primary open-angle glaucoma.
