The invention provides a thermal-insulation coating. Shell powder serves as filler of the thermal-insulation coating, a rutile titanium dioxide pigment with high reflectivity is adopted, and a water-based fluorocarbon emulsion is taken as film-forming resin. The thermal-insulation coating is prepared according to steps as follows: firstly, the shell powder and water are mixed in proportion, the water-based fluorocarbon emulsion is added and uniformly mixed after the shell powder is uniformly dispersed in the water, then a wetting agent, a defoaming agent and a dispersion agent are added, a system with uniformly dispersed shell powder is obtained, and the mixture is stirred by a grinder at the rotation speed being 50-3,000 r/min, so that the shell powder is sufficiently dispersed in slurry; then the titanium dioxide, a thickening agent and a film-forming auxiliary agent are added, the mixture is stirred at the rotation speed being 50-3,000 r/min, hollow microspheres are added finally, the mixture is stirred at the rotation speed being 50-3,000 r/min to prevent the hollow microspheres from being broken, and the thermal-insulation coating is obtained. The thermal-insulation coating is prepared with the shell powder as the filler, waste shells can be recycled while the comprehensive performance of the coating is improved, resources are saved, and the cost is reduced.
