Quick Start-up and Influencing Factors of Partial Nitrification in Biological Fluidized Bed Reactors

2012
In the experiment high performance inner loop fluidized bed biofilm reactor was used for treating high concentration synthetic wastewater of ammonia nitrogen in order to evaluate the performance of fluidized bed biofilm reactors(FBBR)during the treatment of high concentration ammonia wastewater, and determine the optimal experimental conditions through changing operational parameters. Results showed that when temperature of the reactors was(31 ±1) ℃,DO was provided by the running of reactor and kept between 1.5 ~2.5 mg/L,and pH 8.0 ~8.5,ammonia concentration of influent would improve from 50 mg/L to 300 mg/L after 42 days.In the reactor the carrier material was presented as fluidization, which would increase the surface area of carriers, and reach high concentrations of biomass. As the efficient and fast mass transfer effect of the reactor, when HRT was reduced from 16 h to 8 h,ammonia nitrogen removal went up to 90%,and nitrite accumulation rate can be up to 75%.The effluent was clear, and clarifier and sludge treatment system don’t need.
