Occurrence of the D-1 dopamine receptor in the substantia nigra of several mammalian species: identification in binding studies using [125I]SCH 23982

1987
Abstract The substantia nigra of the rat brain contains a high concentration of binding sites for benzazepine antagonists of the D-1 receptor. Using [ 125 I]SCH 23982, the properties of these binding sites are characterized and shown to resemble the D-1 dopamine receptor occurring in the caudate nucleus. Similar binding sites are identified in the substantia nigra of the cat and guinea pig.
