A freezing medium composition for cryopreserving amniotic fluid-derived stem cells and a method for cryopreserving the same

PURPOSE: A medium composition for cryopreservation of amniotic fluid-derived stem cells is provided to prevent damage of the stem cells and to enable long-term cryopreservation. CONSTITUTION: A medium composition for cryopreservation of amniotic fluid-derived stem cells contains trehalose, catalase, zVAD-fmk(carboxybenzoxy-v-aryl-alanyl-aspartyl-(O-methyl)-fluoromethyl ketone), and Me_2SO of low concentration. The concentration of Me_2SO, trehalose, catalase, and zVAD-fmk is 2.5-5%(v/v), 60 mmol/L, 100mg/mL, and 30 uM.
