Current status and prospect on application of heterosis of rape

On the basis of the history of rape heterosis studied at home and abroad, the author divided it into three stages: exploration, preparation and application. The main way of rape heterosis applied now at home and abroad was studied systematically, such as cytoplasm male sterility hybrid, self-incompatibility systematic hybrid and ecological male-sterility. By analysis of history and current status, the development trend of rape heterosis application in future was suggested: That means to closely combine good-quality breeding, hybrid and high-quality breeding, and disease-resistant, insect pest-resistant breeding; to use three systems of cytoplasm male sterility as focal point. The various useful ways are combined with one anather; It is estimated that biological technology will be applied faster and more extensively in the future study of heterosis of rape.
