Assembly of two novel self-catenated metal-organic frameworks from a tripodal N,O-donor ligand: Syntheses, structures and properties

2019
Abstract Based on a tripodal N,O-donor ligand tris[4-(2’-methylimidazol-yl)phenyl]phosphine oxide (tmpo), two new self-catenated MOFs, [Cd 3 (2,6-ndc) 3 (tmpo) 2 ]·8H 2 O·4DMF ( 1 ), and [Cd 2 (bpedc)(tmpo) 2 ]·2NO 3 ·4H 2 O·2DMF ( 2 ) [2,6-H 2 ndc=naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylic acid, H 2 bpedc=4,4’-stibenedicarboxylic acid] have been synthesized under solvothermal conditions. Compound 1 features an unusual 3,4-c self-catenated framework. Compound 2 presents an unprecedented 4,5-c self-catenated framework. Their photochemical properties were measured.
