Crystal structure of iron(III) complex with pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid

Complex of Fe I I I with pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid has been synthesized. The ligand acts as tridentate coordinating through the heterocyclic ring nitrogen and two carboxyl oxygens. A single crystal X-ray analysis on the complex reveals the structure as distorted octahedral, Fe sitting at the center and surrounded by the two tridentate ligands.
