An Analysis of Human Visual Receptive Fields Using the Perimetric Method

1997
We measured the visual thresholds using subjective and pupillographic perimetry of various stimulation sizes, drew diameter-threshold curves and performed computer simulations which showed the shape, area and density of the receptive fields. The visual thresholds were determined using pulse or ramp stimulation. The diameters of the center of the receptive fields obtained using pulse stimulations were 6.2 minutes at the fovea. Those obtained using ramp stimulations were 4.4 minutes at the fovea. The results from the pupillographic perimetry could be simulated by W-cells.
