s / Brain Stimulation 8 (2015) 395e411 410 regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF). We evaluated QOL and mood states by using Short-Form 36 (SF-36) and Profile of mood states (POMS). Results: ADL and motor symptoms were significantly improved after STN-DBS in the UPDRS evaluation. MMSE score was 27.6 before surgery and 27.7 after surgery. There was no significant change in Full-scale IQ, verbal IQ, and performance IQ of WAIS-III after surgery. The rCBF of parietal and occipital lobe, and angular gyrus was increased after surgery. Physical and mental QOL were significantly improved in SF-36. Tension-anxiety was improved in POMS. Conclusions: STN-DBS significantly improved motor symptoms and QOL in patients with PD. Cognitive functions in patients with PD were not significantly deteriorated after STN-DBS.
