Green and Facile Fabrication of Thermal Superamphiphobic Nanofibrillated-cellulose/Chitosan/OTS Composites Through Mechano-Chemical Method

2021
Superamphiphobic nanofibrillated-cellulose/chitosan/OTS composite was successfully prepared through mechano-chemical method pretreatment, freeze-thaw treatment, regeneration and freeze drying. The morphology, structure, chemical components, element variation and thermally stable property of the prepared nanofibrillated-cellulose/chitosan/OTS composite was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) thermogravimetric/differential thermogravimetric (TG-DTG). Results indicate that micro/nano-biomimetic structures of the prepared nanofibrillated-cellulose/chitosan/OTS composite were alike to the micromorphology of a lotus leaf. As-prepared nanofibrillated-cellulose/chitosan/OTS composite not only exhibited superhydrophobic performance with a water contact angle (WCA) of 154 ° and the surface exhibits self-cleaning ability with sliding angle of 6 °, but also had excellent superoleophobic behavior. What’s more, the nanofibrillated-cellulose/chitosan/OTS composite is resistant to high-temperature-humidity-resistant, outperforming original wood fiber.
