Surface Plasma Wave Excitation at a 2‐D Corrugated Metal/semiconductor Interface for Infrared Photodetectors

2011
A plasmonic coupler using the surface plasma waves excited at a 2‐dimensional corrugated metal/semiconductor interface that is integrated on a quantum dot infrared photodetector is reported. At 77 K, the detectivity of this device is enhanced more than 15 times compared with that of an identical device without the coupler.
