Scattering and Absorption of the H-polarized Plane Wave of THz Range by a Circularly Curved Graphene Strip in the Free Space

2019
We consider the scattering of an H-polarized plane wave by an infinite circularly curved graphene strip of arbitrary angular width, placed in the free space. Our analysis is based on the hypersingular integral equation for the current induced on the strip. Discretization of this equation is carried out by the Nystrom-type method that has a guaranteed convergence. This trusted computational instrument enables us to plot the dependences of the extinction cross-section (ECS) on the frequency, strip angular width and physical width, and its radius of curvature. We derive approximate equation for the resonance frequencies of the graphene plasmon modes and demonstrate its agreement with full-wave computations in the THz range.
