Comparison nitrogen fixation ability of apical stem in tissue culture sugarcane seeding.

Sugarcane stem apical culture was conducted with Brazilian varieties B1,B3,B5,B8 and Guangxi varieties GT11,ROC16.The sugarcane varieties were treated in pot under non-nitrogen fertilzer condition,which had been derived from stem apical culture and cloned for 4 generations.The results indicated that the regenerated plants did not lose the biological nitrogen fixing ability through stem apical culture.Under non-nitrogen fertilzer condition,the Brazilian varieties B1,B3,B5 and B8 had stronger nitrogen fixing ability and grew better than GT11 and ROC16,which their leaf had higher nitrogen content and higher nitrogen fixation activity,and their symptom of nitrogen deficiency appeared later.In the pot cultivation experiement,the Brazilian varieties showed more stalks,stronger tillering.
