Immunization of pig against Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae serotype 7 strain 25-4 using an inactivated vaccine.

Three groups of healthy pigs were infected with Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae(APP) serotype 7 strain 25-4 at different dosages.Typical pleuropneumonia pathological changes could be induced in pigs with 106 CFU.Healthy pigs were immunized with inactivated vaccine prepared from APP serotype 7 strain 25-4 and challenged with two different doses of the same strain 21 days after vaccination.All pigs in control group showed typical pleuropneumonia pathological changes,however,pigs in immunized group were completely protected.
