The Prognosis Significance of Serum Resistin in Patients with Systolic Heart Failure

2014
Objective:To explore the prognosis significance of serum resistin in patients with systolic heart failure.Method:85 patients with systolic heart failure were selected in our hospital from February 2011 to February 2013.On admission, the serum resistin,N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP) and biochemistry index were analyzed. The patients were followed up 1 to 2 years, and the cardiac death, readmission because of exacerbation of heart failure and other major cardiovascular events were recorded.Result:The serum resistin was positively correlated with NT-proBNP(r=0.562,P0.05)and negatively correlated with eject fraction in patients with heart failure(r=-0.454,P0.05).The incidence of cardiovascular events in patients with NT-proBNP was(3583±2872)pg/mL,it was significantly higher than the(1894±1234)pg/mL of without cardiovascular events patients, the serum resistin was(19.2±2.3)ng/mL,it was significantly higher than the(13.5±3.1)ng/mL of without cardiovascular events patients, the differences were statistically significant(P0.05).ROC curve analysis showed that the area above was 0.79,P=0.0001,suggesting resistin levels may predict cardiovascular events in patients with systolic heart failure. Conclusion:Serum resistin levels may be a new prognostic biomarker for cardiovascular events in patients with systolic heart failure.
