Generation of multiband, single nanosecond pulses in CO 2 lasers

A technique of generating single nanosecond pulses of CO 2 laser radiation using a CdTe electro-optic gate driven by a laser triggered Blumlein structure is described. By the use of intercavity absorbers, simultaneous output is obtained on multiple rotational lines of both the 9.4 µm and 10.4 µm vibrational bands.
