Method for preparing high purity lutein crystal from marigold oil resin

The present invention relates to a process for preparing high-purity marigold oleoresin xanthophyll crystals. The method first tagetes oil uniformly dispersed into the resin an alcohol solution, and the soap solution under alkaline conditions; recovering alcoholic solution under reduced pressure to obtain a solid saponified; use of a weakly polar organic solvent extraction of the free xanthophylls, was added low alcohol soluble impurities liquid separation, low temperature crystallization; separating the resulting crystals were washed with ethanol using anhydrous crystalline, or freeze-dried in vacuo to obtain high purity crystals of lutein. The present invention is simple, final product purity and yield of 90% and 85%, respectively, suitable for industrial scale production.
