Seismic inversion by the combined use of predictive and semblance techniques

1990
The combination of predictive and semblance methods is the basis of several techniques of seismic inversion. A method for estimating the velocities of the compressional, shear, and Stoneley waves is proposed and applied to synthetic cases. The results obtained with eight of them are summarized and are quite satisfactory. The number of receivers in all the cases considered is eight, and the distance between them is 15 cm. The order of the Prony model is chosen to be three. One of the eight cases is illustrated in more detail. >
