Because of the drastic increase in oil/gas discoveries where natural fractures play an important role in production (North sea, Middle east; USA, North Africa...), focus on fracture studies with an ultimate goal of fracturing on subsurface fluid flow and subsequent reservoir performance is of paramount importance in the reservoir evaluation and management.
