In this study, we focused on the metaphors of animal body parts, explained characteristics and principles of the conceptualization, and discussed how these metaphorical expressions can be expanded. In chapter 2, we dealt with the correlation between animal metaphors and the metaphors of animal body parts and pointed out that the latter show more complex aspects than the former in the conceptualization. In chapter 3, we divided the metaphorical expressions of animal body parts into two types according to their constructions to examine how they are conceptualized. The metaphorical expressions consisting of solely an animal body part are mainly associated with the negative valuation if it correspond to a human body part. Otherwise they are mostly influenced by the frame of UP-DOWN metaphor. The metaphorical expressions consisting of an animal plus an animal body part are usually associated with the low valuation if the focus of their source domain is figure but they are affected by the symbol of the animal and the function of the animal body part if the focus of their source domain is function. In chapter 4, we captured the networks from the metaphors of animal body parts and revealed how the metaphorical expressions be expanded through these networks. This study emphasized that one can explain and predict the expandability of metaphorical expressions if they examine aspects of the expansion by the networks from the metaphors of animal body parts and the target domains mapping them in discourse contexts.
본고에서는 1960년대 북한에서 진행된 문풍 운동의 언어정책적 함의를 밝힌다는 목표로 다음 논의를 전개하였다. 첫째, 문풍 운동의 출현 맥락을 살펴보면서, 언어정책으로서 문풍 운동의 의미를 설명하였다. 둘째, 문화어 제정의 맥락을 살펴보면서, 이와 관련지어 문풍 운동의 방향 전환이 갖는 의미를 설명하였다. 이상의 논의 과정에서 본고는 ‘주체사상의 확립’과 같은 정치적 맥락에 가려져 부각되지 않았던 북한 언어정책의 내적 동기에 주목하였다. 이에 따라 어문규범이 확정되고 사전이 간행된 시기를 언어정책이 새로운 단계에 진입할 수 있는 분기점으로 설정하면서, 문풍 운동의 출현 맥락을 설명하였다. 그리고 표기와 어휘 단위의 규범화에 국한되었던 언어정책의 영역이 문장과 텍스트 단위의 규범화로 확장된 데에서 문풍 운동의 의의를 찾았다. 이는 문화어 정책을 회귀적인 언어정책으로 판단하는 근거가 되었다.
This study set out to examine the formation and development patterns of consciousness of Korean language after Liberation with a focus on the contexts in which the consciousness of Korean language formed in the early modern times was inherited and changed. The study investigated the development patterns of consciousness of Korean language from Liberation to the early 1950s with the articles published in the academic journals with influences on the Korean education policies those days to figure out the problematic consciousness of the times regarding the language issues objectively and conduct balanced analysis of perspectives that had popular influences. Those journals include Hangeul(Korean Language Society), Eomun(Society of Korean Language and Literature), and Joseon Gyoyuk(Research Society on Education of Joseon). Chapter 2 looked into the conceptualization context of “Korean language” by reviewing the consciousness around the term “Korean language” and the status and roles of Korean language. Chapter 3 examined the consciousness of making Korean language and the scope of Korean language those days by reviewing the consciousness of Korean language expressed in the process of its reconstruction including the controversy over the national language between the abolishment of Chinese characters and the exclusive use of Hangul, the issues of language purification, and the matters of acceptance of loanwords.
