Abstract The ketogenic diet (KD) is a high-fat, low-carbohydrate, and low-protein dietary approach that exerts antiepileptogenic effects by attenuating spontaneous recurrent seizures, ameliorating learning and memory impairments, and modulating the gut microbiota composition. However, the role of gut microbiome in antiepileptic effects of KD on temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) induced by lithium-pilocarpine in adult rats are still unknown. Our study provides evidence demonstrating that the KD effectively mitigates seizure behavior and reduces acute-phase epileptic brain activity, KD treatment alleviates hippocampal neuronal damage and improves cognitive impairment induced by TLE. We also observed that the beneficial effects of the KD are compromised when gut microbiota is disrupted through antibiotic administration. Components of gut microbiota analysis using 16S rRNA gene sequencing in fecal samples collected from TLE rats fed either KD or normal diet. Chao, ACE index showed a decrease species variety in KD treatment rats compared to TLE rats with normal diet. KD increased the level of Actinobacteriota, Verrucomicrobiota and Proteobacteria and decreased the level of Bacteroidetes. Interestingly, the abundance of Actinobacteriota and Verrucomicrobiota indicate a positive correlation with the learning and memory ability, the abundance of Proteobacteria showed a positive correlation with the seizure susceptibility. In conclusion, our study unveils the significant antiepileptic and neuroprotective effect of the KD in pilocarpine-induced epileptic rats, primarily mediated through the modulation of gut microbiota. However, gut microbiota mediates the anti-seizure effects of the KD still needs to be better elucidated.
'Drought nine years out of ten'is the most typical description of Chaoyang city.As a social public welfare work with industrial attributes and the principal part and foundation of ecosystem, forestry is very important for improving atrocious weather conditions of Chaoyang, safeguarding ecological safety and strengthening ecological soft power.Aiming at the forestry sustainable development of Chaoyang city, the article put forwards specific countermeasures;and it was concluded that the predicament of forestry development of Chaoyang city could never be overcome until the system problem and the technical problem were solved, and the forestry of Chaoyang city could be developed only by relying on science and technology in consideration of human factors and policy problems.
Fruitless Lycium barbarum leaf (FLBL) are tender leaf of FLB tree, a new variety of Lycium barbarum (LB) in Ningxia. Its nutritional composition, trace elements and bioactive substances are higher than those of LB fruits and leaves. However, the development and research of its health and medicinal value, by-products have not attracted people's attention. In this study, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) fingerprints was established and contents of 4 kinds of phenolic acid bioactive substances were determined in different picking stage. We found there were 17 common peaks in 10 batches samples, the similarity were 0.71~0.976. The linear relationship R2 of catechin, epicatechin-catechin, chlorogenic acid and rutin were 0.9999, 0.9999, 0.9998 and 0.9999, the average recovery rate was 93.92%~120.11%, RSD was 0.91%~2.82%. The precision, repeatability, stability (24 h) and recovery rate of the samples were in line with the requirements of "Chinese Pharmacopoeia". The contents of catechin, epicatechin and rutin were higher from June to August, the chlorogenic acid were higher from July to September. The established HPLC fingerprint can be used for the quality control and screening the best harvest period of Ningxia FLBL, it‘s also provides the basis for the development and production of Ningxia FLBLas important industrial crops such as tea, vegetables, food and Chinese medicine.
As the complexity and uncertainty of the tunnel engineering, there is a considerable risk in the entire construction process. After investigating many history cases, this paper sums up these cases from four aspects, including question, scene, solution and result. To improve the efficiency and accuracy of case retrieving in case-based reasoning, the rough-set theory is introduced to reduce case attributes and get attribute weights.Compared with traditional technique, this technique reduces the subjective effects and improves risk assessment of the accuracy and efficiency, and guarantees the safety of the tunnel construction.
The complexes of 4'-bromo-5'-nitrobenzo-15-crown-5(L)3 with rare earth havebeen synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV, TG-DTA, molar conduc-tance and X-ray powder diffration analyses. The complexes have compositions of RE(NO3)3·L(RE=La~Nd),Sm(NO3)3·L·H2O and Eu(NO3)3·L·CH3CN·4H2O) respectively with the coordination number of the rare earth cation in the complexes for La,Ce,Pr,andNd being eleven, In the complexes with samarium and europium the crown ethers are coordi-natedvvith Sm3+ or Eu3+ via water molecules.
"Fruitless Lycium barbarum leaf (FLBL) are the leaves of a new variety of Lycium barbarum in Ningxia, which exhibit higher content of various nutrients, trace elements, and bioactive substances compared to Lycium barbarum fruits and leaves. However, the health and medicinal value as well as the by-products derived from FLBL have not received sufficient attention, and the contents of main components vary at different harvesting periods. Therefore, for the first time this study aimed to establish high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) fingerprints and determine the contents of four phenolic acid bioactive substances during different harvesting periods in order to provide an experimental basis for cultivation, collection, and research on FLBL. The results revealed 17 common peaks among 10 batches samples with a similarity ranging from 0.71 to 0.976. The linear relationships R2 for catechin, epicatechin-catechin, chlorogenic acid, and rutin were determined as 0.9999 each; meanwhile, the average recovery rate ranged from 93.92 % to 120.11 %, with an RSD between 0.91 % and 2.82 %. The precision, repeatability stability (24 h), and recovery rate met the requirements outlined in "Chinese Pharmacopoeia". Catechin, epicatechin, and rutin exhibited higher levels from June to August, while chlorogenic acid showed increased levels from July to September. The findings serve as a foundation for quality control measures such as identifying optimal harvest periods or facilitating development and production processes related to Ningxia FLBL."
There is an increase in decoration and renovation activities in the construction industry, and waste generation rates (WGRs) play a crucial role in guiding the management of demolition waste in decoration and renovation projects (DWDRPs). However, there has been little systematic research on this type of waste. Based on site surveys and a document review of 26 projects, this study offers insights into DWDRP wastes, from their initial generation to their final disposal. The results revealed that the WGRs for DWDRPs ranged from 30.96 kg/m2 to 629.96 kg/m2 and that the key components of DWDRPs included mortar, concrete, timber, tile, and metal; these five types of waste contributed 75.02% of the total waste. Although these findings deviate slightly from those of previous studies, these variations are attributed to diverse waste management practices, awareness levels, and employed construction technologies. Despite its importance, in China, the management of DWDRPs faces challenges, such as limited public awareness, inadequate collection and sorting guidance, and insufficient legislation. To counter these issues, we recommend a set of strategies, including stringent regulations, enhanced supervision, government incentives, improved collection and sorting methods, and the adoption of innovative technologies. This study not only sheds light on the specific challenges in decoration and demolition waste management in rapidly urbanizing areas but also proposes a comprehensive approach for improving waste management practices.
