    In this article two kinds of tungste n oxide materials of violet tungsten oxide and tungsten blue oxide were selected to study the influence of ra w materials on ultrafine and homogen ous tungsten powder.Researching re sults showed that tungsten powder has loose structure produced in violet tungsten which is more suitable for the ult rafine hard metals.

    The microstructure of tungsten oxides was investigated by using scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy and so on.The results show that different tungsten oxides,including violet tungsten oxide,blue tungsten oxide and yellow tungsten oxide,are of different microstructure.Especially,violet tungsten oxide is of particular monocrystal bar structure and suitable for producing fine tungsten powders.

    The adsorption of oxygen on a single crystal tungsten ribbon at room temperature was studied. The maximum coverage was found to be 12.3×1014 atoms cm-2 and the initial sticking probability is 0.24 approximately. The rate of formation of tungsten oxide at the surface of the hot filament was also studied. These results and earlier ones bearing on the adsorption of nitrogen on tungsten are discussed in the light of an idealized atomic model for the tungsten surface.

    In this article five kinds of tungsten oxide materials of hydrogentungsten bronze (H 0.33 WO 3),ammonium tungsten bronze((NH 4) 0.5 WO 3),violent tungsten γ oxide (WO 2.72 ),tungstenyellow oxide(WO 3), mixtureof tungsten β oxideandtungsten γ oxide were selected to study the influence of raw materials on producing ultrafine and homogenous tungsten powder. Researching results show that ultrafine and homogenous tungsten powder can be produced from one phase tungsten oxide; and because of the special pore structure among WO 2.72 particles, the homogenous and ultrafine tungsten powder has loose structure which is more suitable for the ultrafine hard metals than the powders from the other TBO materials selected in this paper.[
