Abstract:
Although social media is the new frontier for policing, little research has examined how state security forces construct gender online. To address this gap, we analyzed 315 TikTok videos posted by law enforcement agencies in El Salvador and Honduras. We find that gender is constructed by (1) showcasing (or not) female officers; (2) displaying masculinized and feminized policing practices; (3) advancing gendered ideas through editorial additions. We further find that gendered performances by police vary between the “iron-fist” regime of El Salvador and the “soft-touch” regime in Honduras, while the armed forces of both countries adopt more gender-neutral images. Keywords:

Objective To investigate pain heterogeneity in transfusion with different gestures in order to find the best gesture. Methods 80 cases were randomly selected and transfused in the back of the hand with three infusion gestures, which including horizontally laid hand with extended fingers for 20 min as control, horizontally laid hand with relaxed fist for 20 min and horizontally laid hand with fist for 20 min in time sequence.Mark-Gail method was used to assess the pain grade. Results Pain was enhanced in horizontally laid hand with relaxed fist group and horizontally laid hand with fist group when comparing with horizontally laid hand with extended fingers group. And pain was more stronger in horizontally laid hand with fist group than that of horizontally laid hand with relaxed fist group. Conclusions Transfusion with horizontally laid hand combining with extended fingers implicated minimum pain and was the best gesture.Horizontally laid hand with fist flat finger displayed the strongest pain and should be banned.

Abstract : The Fast, Inexpensive, Simple, and Tiny (FIST) framework proposes a broad set of organizational values, but provides limited guidance on practical implementation. Implementing FIST principles requires clarifying the definitions of fast, inexpensive, and simple, recognizing where FIST does and does not apply. Additionally, a subset of the FIST heuristics was expanded upon to increase their usefulness for practitioners. The primary research findings are that FIST principles are less conducive for highly complex or novel systems, immature technologies, future needs, acquisitions in early development phases, or when performance is the foremost value. FIST principles were also found to be constrained by the acquisition process, the requirements process, and oversight.

An exercise program for tendon gliding is introduced for use in hand treatment and rehabilitation. The program incorporates thumb range of motion and three basic fist positions: book, fist, and straight fist. The anatomic and experimental basis of this program is discussed. The exercises allow the flexor tendons to glide to their maximum potential and can greatly facilitate therapeutic activities when incorporated in a comprehensive program of occupational and hand therapy.

In ‘Visible hand or invisible fist’ Professor Paton asks two specific questions; first, whether the new internal market is different to the one we experienced in the 1990s; and, second, given that the new market is not steered by anything approximating the invisible hand, is it an economic market at all, or some kind of political market instead?

The purpose of this study was to characterise the most used fist punch in karate, the so called Gyaku-Zuki. Having a look at current publications, most of them describe the Gyaku-Zuki in a verbal form or they concentrate on analyses about physical parameters. In order to understand and even improve the movement, it is necessary to describe the punch by using biomechanical parameters. Recording the performance of three different karatekas with a VICON system, this study only focuses on the basis-version of Gyaku- Zuki. After giving the movement a structure, first results can be presented e. g. the total time of movement and maximum velocity of fist. For performing a punch all three athletes require less than 400ms and reach a maximum of fist velocity of about 8m/s. So this study will help to understand the Gyaku-Zuki and will pave the way for further analyses.

In the present paper, a sample test "fist-rib"/"palm-fist" was considered for the analysis of the totality of brain and muscle activity. A group of 20 people, unpaid volunteers, took part in the experimental neurophysiological work. To analyze the recorded signals of brain activity, we used wavelet mathematics and developed algorithms based on the calculation of skeletons. We found a significant difference in EEG activity for the subjects, objectively shared by health condition. Further development of the proposed method will be aimed at creating a device of diagnostic type, close to real-time operation.

Abstract : FIST is an emerging and unproven rapid acquisition model that stands for Fast, Inexpensive, Simple, and Tiny. The purpose of this research is to develop an Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) model based on the FIST concepts, to be applied as a comparative tool against the FIST model. The results indicate that the FIST model is reproducible with the AHP theory and that there are certain program characteristics that denote if a program would benefit from being developed by FIST. However, there are distinct weaknesses to the model that signify not all programs would succeed if FIST was employed during development. Eleven additional FIST activities are recommended for inclusion in the model with key activities comprising of an ambidextrous structured organization, better requirements gathering techniques, and utilizing incremental development.
