The in vitro dissolution rates and the comparison of a cross-over bio-availability in 8 adult health volunteers between the sustained release indometacin capsule and a commercially available capsule were examined. The serum samples were assayed for indometacin by HPLC. The in vitro dissolution behaviour of the two capsule formulations exhibited a significant difference. The in vivo bioavaila-bility of different capsule formulations, although their absorped degree(AUC ,_14 h) were almost the same, Cmax and Tmax of the sustained release capsule were significantly lower and latter than that of the commercially available capsule (P 0.01).The sustained release capsule demonstrated a higher and smooth concentration-time curves than that of the commercially available capsule from 4-12 k following a single dose(50 mg) of indorriete.cin, and their serum level were significantly higher than that of the latter(P0.05).The results suggest that the sustained release indometacin capsule can avoid high initial peak of the commercially available capsule arid increase the interval between dosage.

Objective To observe the threpautic effect of Naoan capsule on magraine. Methods 83 patients with magraine were randomly divided into two groups. 41 patients in treatment group were treated with Naoan capsule combined with Xibiling capsule;42 patients in control group were treated with only Naoan capsule,with a treatment course of 4 weeks for both groups.Results The cure rate and total effective rate were 58.54% and 92.68% in treatment group,compared with 23.81% and 64.29% in control group,there was a significant difference between two groups (P0.05). Conclusion Naoan capsule is effective in the treatment of magraine,with less side effects,which is convenient to be taken and easy to be popularized.

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Jiqikaibi capsule on rheumatoid arthritis and to investigate its mechanism. Methods 76 patients with rheumatoid arthritis were randomly divided into two groups, 46 patients in treatment group were treated with Jiqikaibi capsule, three piles once, three times a day;30 patients in control group were treated with Zhengqingfengtongning, two tablets once, twice a day, with a treatment course of one month for both groups. The therapeutic effects, improvement of symptoms and biochemical indexes before and after treatment were observed. Results The total effective rate was 76.1% in treatment group and 70% in control group. Conclusion Jiqikaibi capsule is effective in treating rheumatoid arthritis by improving the symptoms of patients, increasing the immunological function and improving the blood viscosity.

Objective: To compare the curative effect between Zhian capsule and Xuesatong capsule in the treatment of patients with Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy.Methods: Sixty type2 diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy patients were randomly treated with Zhian capsule(l group tria)or Xuesaitong capsule(group control).Followed by 12 weeks of treatment course,Clinic symptoms,blood glucose,nerve conduction velocity(NCV)examination were investigated and the results were compared at prior-treatment and post-treatment.Results: The blood glucose was decreased significantly both group trial and group contrasting(P0.05).No significant difference was found between two groups(P0.05);NCV was improved obviously both two groups.Significant difference was found between two groups;Clinical symptoms were improved both two groups,Significant difference was found between two groups.Conclusion: Both Zhian capsule and Xuesatong capsule can be good for treating diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy.Zhian capsule surpassed Xuesatong capsule in improving symptoms and NCV.

Objective:To initially observe therapeutic effects of Huatan Jiangqi(HTJQ) Capsule in treating experimental chronic bronchitis in rats.Methods: Rats were randomized into high-,middle-and low-dosage of HTJQ Capsule groups(0.140,0.070,0.035 g/ml,respectively),Guilong Kechuan Ning(GLKCN) Capsule group and sham operation group.The rat model of chronic bronchitis was induced by injecting lipopolysaccharide.The histopathologic changes of rats in all groups were observed under light microscope.Results: The histopathologic conditions of rats in HTJQ Capsule groups were markedly improved.HTJQ Capsule could relieve the amotio of ciliated epithelium;decrease the accrementition of caliciform cells and the infiltrating of inflammatory cells.The effects of high-dosage of HTJQ Capsule were superior to those of middle-and low-dosage of HTJQ Capsule.Conclusion: HTJQ Capsule possesses therapeutic effects on experimental chronic bronchitis in rats.

막의 특성을 이용하여 기질과 효소가 공존하는 캡슐을 제조하여 이 캡슐의 장점인 membrane의 pore size를 조절하면 올리고당을 분자량별로 유출시키는 것이 가능해짐으로 기질과 효소의 유출을 조절하여 생리활성이 높은 올리고당을 얻고, 생산된 올리고당의 단순한 분리․정제를 위하여, 그리고 효소의 재 이용 측면에서 encapsulation technology를 이용하여 올리고당을 생산하는 연구를 하였다. 제조된 capsule의 막 두께와 직경은 Olympus IX50 microscope를 이용하여 측정한 결과 막의 두께는 10 μm이었으며, capsule의 크기는 대략 3.0 mm, N2 gas를 이용한 capsule은 대략 1.5 mm였다. 본 실험에 사용된 기질의 용액, 효소액, 반응액, alginate 용액을 pH 5.0으로 제조하여 사용하였기 때문에 막이 보다 견고하게 형성 할 수 있었으며, 제조된 capsule를 반응 용액 즉 2% acetic acid의 pH를 CaCO3로 조절한 용액에 넣었기 때문에 막이 단단하게 형성되고 유지되는 것으로 판단된다. 기질의 사용에 있어서 작은 분자량을 갖는 기질은 효소와 분해 반응에 있어서 가수분해가 빨리 일어나기 때문에 보통 capsule 밖으로 유출된 올리고당의 분자량은 평균 M.W. 1,000이었다. 그러나 분자량이 큰 기질을 사용하였을 경우 평균 M.W. 1,000-3,500이었다. 막을 이루는 alginate의 점도에 의한 차이는 없었으며, 교반 속도에 의한 기질과 효소의 유출, 그리고 분해 반응에 따른 가수분해 산물인 올리고당의 유출에 있어alginate 농도 0.5%, 교반 속도는 40 rpm이 가장 적당하였다(12). Capsule에서 분해 반응 후 분해 산물인 올리고당의 이동을 빨리 하기 위하여 작은 size의 capsule를 제조하여 실험한 결과 3.0 mm보다 capsule 내부의 분자량 변화가 더 빨랐으며, capsule 밖으로 유출된 올리고당의 분자량 분석 결과M.W. 3000-6000의 올리고당이 생성되었다. 반응 시간에 따른 capsule 내부의 잔류 효소 활성을 조사한 결과, 반응 8시간째에도 약 80% 이상의 효소활성을 나타내었다. Batch-type과 비교하여 capsule의 경우에는 반응이 끝난 후 capsule를 회수하여 효소를 재 사용할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

AbstractIn this study, we aimed to investigate the levels of serum Zn, Cu, Mg, Mn, and Fe in rheumatoid arthritis and whether they are related to the severity of the disease. The sera from 29 patients with rheumatoid arthritis were studied and compared with those from healthy controls (n = 22). Although serum Fe, Mg and Mn levels were lower in the rheumatoid arthritis group than in the control group, the difference was not statistically significant. Significantly higher Cu (p < 0.001) and lower Zn serum levels (p < 0.012) were found in rheumatoid arthritis than in controls.A statistically significant positive correlation was present between Cu levels and disease activity score (DAS), and there was a negative correlation between Zn levels and DAS.We think that alterations of the level of some trace elements in rheumatoid arthritis are a consequence of and not one of the causes of the disease, as in many other chronic inflammatory disorders.Keywords: Rheumatoid arthritiszinccoppermagnesiummanganeseiron.
