The aim of the article is to characterize the attitude of young consumers towards the concept of sustainable consumption in the area of food consumption, which is manifested, among others, in the declared engagement in sustainable behaviors both in the market as well as in households. The research was conducted using the CAWI method on a sample of Polish consumers from the Lubuskie region. The article consists of two parts. The first part explores the problems of sustainable consumption. The second part presents the results of research on consumer attitudes towards the concept of sustainable consumption in the area of food consumption. Particular attention was paid to the awareness of the implications of consumer behavior in the process of satisfying food needs. Behaviors, attitudes and beliefs of consumers related to sustainable consumption were characterized, and an attempt was subsequently made to determine the extent of the gap existing between behaviors and attitudes. The conducted survey research constituted an attempt at highlighting certain consumption problems among young people, to have them share their views on the different issues of sustainable consumption, as well as to emphasize the importance of various factors in shaping sustainable food consumption patterns. The article certainly is not an exhaustive examination of all the problems areas of sustainable consumption, but it should make these more easily identifiable all while stressing the real role and importance of sustainable behaviors among young consumers in the modern economy. Keywords: sustainable consumption, sustainable development, young consumer.

Being different from common commodity consumption, books consumption not only needs readers to pay money for books, but also needs time and knowledge to consume value-in-use.As one kind of individual decision making action, books consumption is restricted and affected by consumer's psychology of decision making and action habit, which even exceed the effect of income. In order to enlarge books consumption,we should reinforce research on books consumer's action.

This study examines, post-conversion, cost inefficiency of Critical Access Hospitals (CAH) using a two-stage approach. While the results suggest that Medicare cost-based reimbursement and longer participation in the CAH program may increase the cost inefficiency of CAHs, the extent of this inefficiency increase is lower than what previous literature showed.

The concept of consumption, which has an important place in people's lives, is generally expressed as the use of produced goods and services in line with needs. Consumption now includes the psychological needs of people as well as their physical needs. Consumers can buy things they do not need by acting pleasure-orientedly, and they exhibit consumption behaviors to provide psychological satisfaction. One of the consumer-purchase patterns is found to demonstrate others in the social environment. Therefore, non-need consumption focused on pleasure and display causes excessive consumption; this situation can also cause wastefulness. Accordingly, in the present study, the aim was to examine the effect of conspicuous consumption behavior on wasteful consumption behavior and the mediating role of hedonic consumption behavior in this effect. With the online survey form prepared, 519 participants were reached between the dates of 21.05.2020-06.07.2020. The data obtained were analyzed with the SPSS 21, AMOS 24, and PROCESS 3.5 programs. After the analysis, it was concluded that conspicuous consumption behavior has an effect on wasteful consumption behavior and that hedonic consumption behavior has a mediating effect.

How consumers' consumption activities are shaped and what are the motives that push consumers to some behaviors are very important topics in the economics literature. It is widely accepted that consumption is shaped by utilitarian consumption and hedonic consumption motives. It has been observed that the relative utilitarian dimension of consumer activities and consumer behavior has gradually decreased, and the hedonic dimension has gradually increased in the historical process. With the 21st century, it is evaluated that hedonic motives dominate consumption behaviors. This chapter discusses the evolution of consumer behavior from utilitarian consumption to hedonic consumption by considering utilitarian consumption and hedonic consumption approaches and evaluates the latest point of consumer behavior in the socio-digital age that represents the 21st century.

Panel data collected recently in Irkutsk Province show that significant technical inefficiency existed across industrial branches between 1970-1991. Technical inefficiency is much more widely dispersed across branches than has been previously reported in other studies suggesting the need for more microeconomic research.

Delayed enjoyment and demonstration consumption rituals have become an integral part of people's lives in modern consumer societies. With the accelerated pace of society and evolving consumption patterns, these two consumption behaviors have had a significant impact on consumer decision-making processes and market dynamics. In view of this, this study focuses on the effects of delayed versus demonstrative consumption rituals on consumer behavior and attempts to analyze the psychological mechanisms behind them. The aim of the study is to reveal how operators enhance the consumption experience through delayed gratification and demonstration of consumption rituals, and how these behaviors affect their purchase decisions and consumption satisfaction. This study utilized both questionnaire and experimental methods to collect extensive data from consumers of different ages, genders and socio-economic backgrounds, respectively. Also, to ensure the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the findings, the researcher used a combination of literature analysis and case studies to support the empirical study. Through in-depth analysis of the collected data, this dissertation finds that delayed consumption rituals significantly increase consumers' anticipatory pleasure and subsequent satisfaction, while demonstration consumption rituals deepen the emotional connection between consumers and products in social interactions. The results suggest that these two consumption rituals can effectively increase the perceived value of the product and promote consumers' repeat purchase behavior to some extent. In addition, the results reveal the role of cultural differences in consumption rituals, with consumers from different cultural backgrounds displaying different behavioral patterns when confronted with delayed versus demonstration consumption rituals.
