Abstract Background Psoriasis, a systemic inflammatory disease, often manifests as plaque psoriasis, affecting 80-90% of patients. Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) diagnosis relies on CASPAR criteria, with ultrasound, especially power Doppler, proving valuable in assessing severity and treatment response. PsA causes deformity, dysfunction, and significantly impairs patients' quality of life. Aim of the Work To asses subclinical affection of peripheral joints in psoriatic patients without symptoms of arthropathy. Patients and Methods A cross-sectional study conducted at Ain Shams University Hospital involved 70 psoriasis patients recruited from dermatology clinics. The study, adhering to ethical standards, utilized comprehensive methods, including medical history, clinical examinations, routine laboratory tests, and musculoskeletal ultrasound with power Doppler. The cross-sectional design allowed assessment of various aspects of psoriasis and its associated conditions. Results This cross-sectional study of 70 psoriatic patients revealed that musculoskeletal involvement was more prevalent in females (57.7%) and those with a BMI >24 (kg/m2). Higher PASI scores (>5) correlated with increased risk. Treatment with topical steroids and methotrexate showed positive associations. In multivariate analysis, female gender and PASI score >5 remained significant predictors of musculoskeletal affection in psoriatic patients (p < 0.05). Conclusion The study underscores the significance of evaluating musculoskeletal issues in psoriatic patients. Female gender, higher BMI, smoking, and elevated PASI scores were linked to musculoskeletal involvement. Treatment with topical steroids and methotrexate correlated with such issues. Female gender and higher PASI scores were independent predictors of musculoskeletal concerns.Keywords:

However, affectionate communication can also provide substantial risks to individual and relational health when it is misattributed (Floyd and Burgoon, 1999, Floyd and Voloudakis, 1999a). The present dissertation assessed 526 participants to examine the process of deceptive affection, both intensified and deintensified, as a communicative tool used to satisfy goals, and how the use of deceptive affection relates to relational health within three relational contexts: friends with benefits, cross-sex friendships, and romantic relationships. The Deceptive Affection Scale (DAS) was created to assess individuals' use of deceptive affection. Results suggest FWBRs produce more deceptive affection, both intensifying and deintensifying, than cross-sex friendships and romantic relationships. Additionally, different goals predicted the use of intensified and deintensified deceptive affection across relational contexts. Finally, results would suggest that deintensifying affection has minimal influence on relational outcomes, however, intensifying affection is negatively associated with relational health. The current study contributes to the expanding literature on affection, particularly deceptive affection, affection exchange theory, and FWBR literature. Implications for findings, limitations, and areas of future research are addressed.

Ratings of affection for dogs were used to select 3 groups of 16 Ss each, a Low Affection group, a Moderate Affection group, and a High Affection group. Ss took the Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation-Behavior (FIRO-B) test, and a 2 (Sex) × 3 (Level of Affection) analysis of variance was carried out on the scores for each of the 6 FIRO-B scales. On the Expressed Affection scale the Low Affection group scored significantly lower than the Moderate Affection group. The men of the Low Affection group also obtained the lowest scores on the Wanted Affection scale. It was concluded that low expressed affection for dogs accompanies low affection for people and, in the case of men, low desire for such affection. Some support for this conclusion was also found for people reporting low affection for cats.

Extant Facebook research focuses on how Facebook users develop and maintain relationships, while largely neglecting to identify specific communicative behaviors used to develop and maintain relationships through Facebook. Expressions of affection are, in part, used to maintain and develop relationships. Therefore, the purpose of this study was twofold. First, this study examined how college students express affection for their close friends through Facebook and identified sex differences in the amount of expressed affection and the perceived appropriateness of expressed affection through Facebook. Second, this study examined the extent to which trait affection given is related to the amount of expressed affection and the perceived appropriateness of expressed affection through Facebook. Undergraduate students identified and confirmed 29 types of expressed affection through Facebook and completed a battery of questionnaires. The results support prior affectionate communication research conducted in face-to-face contexts indicating that women are more likely to express affection and perceive expressions of affection through Facebook as more appropriate than men.

Objective: To investigate how the factors affect subjective well-being through positive affection and negative affection.Methods: Data were collected through individual interviews in which standardized questionnaires were completed by 217 old people.Results: Self-efficacy of general intelligence,perceived social support positively predict positive affection,and educational years negatively predict positive affection;perceived social support,self-efficacy of general intelligence and family income negatively predict negative affection.Conclusion: The factors affect SWB through positive affection and negative affection respectively,and the mechanism is different.

本研究以台灣地區大學生為對象，探討大學生的知覺父親親情及孺慕父親親情欲求。研究結果發現：（一）大學生所知覺的父親絕大部分屬於高管教父親，而高管教中，高溫情稍多於低溫情，亦即關愛稍多於嚴教；就知覺的性別差異而言，女兒知覺的父親較傾向溫情親情，兒子知覺的父親較傾向管教親情；（二）在孺慕父親親情方面，女兒期待的是高溫情的父親親情，兒子反而期待的是低溫情父親親情；在性別差異上，女兒比兒子想要孺慕父親的溺愛親情，兒子比女兒想要孺慕父親的嚴教親情；（三）就知覺父親親情關係及孺慕父親親情欲求而言，如果知覺父親親情是高溫情，則女兒比起兒子，越會期待父親的高溫情溺愛親情，越不希望父親低溫情的冷漠親情。另外，如果女兒知覺父親親情是高溫情，比起知覺父親親情是低溫情的女兒，則越期待父親的關愛親情；而兒子和女兒如果知覺父親親情是高溫情，則比起知覺父親親情是低溫情的兒子和女兒，越不希望父親的冷漠相待。 關鍵詞 知覺父親親情、孺慕父親親情欲求 Perception of Father’s Affection and Yearning-for-Father Need of College Students in Taiwan Among Chinese patrilineal families, demanding fathers and kind mothers are common stereotypes. Although there is little research on father’s affection, some evidence shows affection and interaction differences between fathers and mothers regarding their relationship with the child. Based up these findings, the purpose of this study was to explore the perception of father’s affection and yearning-for-father need of college students in Taiwan. Results of this study showed that: (1) for both sons and daughters, most students perceived their fathers to be high disciplinary. However, daughters perceived more warmth from their fathers than did sons; (2) regarding needs of yearning-for-father daughters, desired more high warmth whereas sons desired more low warmth; and (3) on the perception of father’s affection and yearning-for-father need, daughters who perceived father’s high-warmth affection desired more high-warmth affection of fondness and did not desire more low-warmth affection of indifference, than sons who perceived father’s high-warmth affection. It is an urgent need to resolve the problems of misunderstanding or misuse of affection and affection education.The concepts of affection education as well as the relationship between affection and education should be clarified.Affection and education are two-in-one.In fact,education is of,in,by and for affection;and affection is truly included in the concept and meaning of education.Much more self-conscious,positive,rich,profound,dialectic and harmonious high quality affection must be fused into the whole education procedural so as to help wisdom(including intelligence and emotional intelligence) develop in a harmonious and sustainable way.
